Does Procrastination has any merits ?

Does delaying /procrastination has any merits ? Intuitively most of us will answer in a big negative ..in current fast paced and dynamic scenario , where most of the categories are super competitive and hard fought and things change from morning till evening , most of the organizations expect their leaders to be agile and super quick on the ground .While this is much needed but not at the cost oftaking a half baked decision without enough thought/conviction . Unfortunately speed to market/nimble thinking has started getting much more priority (than required )over quality and the strength of the decision - this may be quite worrying trend in the long term . The cost of delaying the decision by some time will always be far lower vs taking a rushed one without necessary thought, analysis and alignment .The other advantage of procrastination (specially when you are stuck on something ) is that it gives you time to re-energize and gather your thought and helps in getting innovative winning ideas on the table when you approach the problem later in a fun and relaxed environment . Hence specially in strategic /long term/high impact /high stakes /high cost situations/decisions , it may be worth it to procrastinate /" "sit on the problem "for some time .

Focus on what you can control !!

One of the biggest traps that most of the managers face today is spending a lot of time on things that they don't control .This ultimately leads to lot of productivity loss as well as irritation and despair in the end due to lack of positive result . Instead the need of the hour is to identify activities that are important and that we can control /influence . Those who will be successful in the same will have the competitive edge #TAGGlines

Self Belief vs Self Doubt !!

Self Belief is far more powerful than Self doubt!! Where there is self belief, there is no scope for self doubt. So believe in yourself rather than doubting yourself.#TAGGlines

Will vs Skill !!

Lot of times we attribute the failure /low performance in a task /project to lack of adequate skill. However most of the times, we are only scratching the surface. The root cause in most of such cases can be lack of strong will. Strong will is the biggest self motivator and one of the most critical element required to increase the chances of success. Strong will in most cases will automatically accelerate the pace of acquiring missing skill. The reverse however may not be true. So if you are in doubt, while considering someone for a role /task, put your bets on strong will.#TAGGlines

Problems are like Onions !!!

Problems are like onions, they are complex, Don't reveal what's inside, can be deceptive by looks, have multiple layers that you need to peel off (with patience and precision) before getting to the solution or the core of the issue, they make you cry (metaphorically/literally) while you are facing them, but once peeled off successfully, add a lot of value, flavour and zing to cook almost any successful dish. So next time you see a problem, don't take it on facevalue, just start peeling it off to reach to the real issue and the right solution!#TAGGlines
